6 Initiatives to Beat Plastic Pollution from Government offices in India
India was a global host of World Environment Day (WED) this year celebrated on June 05, 2018, in collaboration with UN Environment with the theme “Beat Plastic Pollution”. The Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India is making intensive effort to reduce the use of single use plastic in India.

6 initiatives to reduce the use of single use of plastic
It may be mentioned to take followings initiatives to reduce the use of single use of plastic:
- Encourage employees to refuse, reduce and reuse plastic products in their daily uses. Pledge for plastic free environment in your premises and associated offices.
- Prohibit single use plastic products including water bottles, take away coffee cups, lunch wrapped in disposable plastic packaging, plastic bags, disposable food containers, plates and containers made of polystyrene foam, plastic straws etc.
- Encourage use of durable, fordable and inexpensive reusable bag that can be carried around in car, pocket, or purse.
- Encourage use of biodegradable and other types of compo-stable utensils in place of plastic and bring a fork, knife and spoon from home.
- Encourage innovative ideas to reduce plastic footprints.
- Avoid plastic office supplies especially plastic folders, tapes etc.
Conclusion:
We all know that Pollution is harmful to all human beings but no one is serious to reduce the use of single use plastic. we should take cited above initiatives to reduce the use of single use plastic in India. Surely, we must give our new generation to pollution free world.
