The CBI Academy, Ghaziabad (An ISO 9001:2008 Certified Institution) has been established in the year of 1996 with the Vision of “Excellence in Training in the fields of crime Investigation, Prosecution and Vigilance Functioning” and vision to train the human resources of CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation), State Police and the Vigilance Organizations to become impartial, professional, industrious, upright and dedicated for better service of the Nation.

The academy is responsible for the identification of suitable training programmes and the focal point of training activities within the organization, preparation of the Annual Training Calendar and regulation of nominations of trainees. The conducted courses by CBI Academy are as follows: 
   

    A. Basic Courses, Orientation Courses, Refresher Courses, Vertical Interaction Courses, Induction Courses, Post Promotional Courses etc. 


    B. Anti Corruption Courses (Investigation of Disproportionate Assets, Trap, Vigilance courses, , Abuse of Official Position by the Public servants etc) 


    C. Courses on Economic Offences (Bank Frauds, E-Banking Frauds, Forensic Accounting, Capital Market and Stock Market Frauds etc.)

    INFRASTRUCTURE: 

    The CBI Academy, Ghaziabad is centrally air-conditioned with a large Seminar Hall, three Group Discussion Rooms, two state-of-the-art Conference Halls, three Lecture Halls and an Auditorium (Movie) for conducting training courses. These Infrastructure facilities are equipped with advanced teaching aids, such as Visualizers, Multimedia Projectors, Digital Class Interactive Training System and Webster Interactive Training Board. Practical aspects of training are supplemented by computer training, forensic inputs and cyber forensics.

    CENTRE FOR TRAINING IN CYBER & HI-TECH CRIME INVESTIGATION:

    Centre for training in Cyber Crime (Investigation) and Hi-Tech Crime Investigation (CHTCC) has been set up at CBI Academy, Ghaziabad by Ministry of Information Technology, Government of India, during the year 2010 with the purpose of capacity building in the areas of investigation of cybercrime, providing tools & through training and technology. 

    The Centre has an MoU with NASSCOM-DSCI and is provided with the latest cyber forensic tools and is manned by highly trained and cyber forensic certified investigators. The Centre has conducted, during the year 201, specialized courses for CBI Officers, State Police Officers and also for Foreign Police Officers (African Nations, Myanmar, Nepal, Bhutan, Vietnam etc.). Addition assistance has also been given to the CSFL (Central Forensic Science Laboratory), New Delhi. In assistance has been provided to high profile cases investigated by CBI and also to the State Police. 

    LIBRARY:

    A fully computerized Library houses 55 Journals, 19438 books, 1115 educational cassettes and 1465 CD ROMS on various professional relevance subjects. The Library is installed with the latest version of Libsys-4 software. The Academy Library is also a member of DELNET system of Libraries. 

    RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES:

    The CBI Academy has a nice hostel facility consisting of Officers hostel (60 Air-conditioned rooms), Trainees Hostel (100 Air-conditioned rooms) & Dining Hall (capacity for 200).

    NATIONAL POLICE MUSEUM : 

    A National Police Museum has been established in the Academic Block of the CBI Academy in November' 2003. The Museum houses have old National & International Emblems, Dresses, Badges, Police Medals, Fire Arms and Forensic exhibits etc. used by the forces during the bygone era.

    The final selected candidates through SSC CGL would be sent initially for Training as under:-

    9 Weeks
    Institutional Training with CBI Academy (Phase 2)

    After the training, they would get posted to the different CBI branches, where they are ready to conduct criminal investigation and field operations.



    The Cadets are given lectures on Criminal Major and Minor Acts such as DSPE Act, IPC, Cr.P.C, Indian Evidence Act, PC Act, Arms Act, Explosive Substance Act, Indian Explosive Act, Identification of Prisoners Act, Extradition Act, Constitution of India, Specialized Investigation, Crime Manual, Forensic Science, General Investigation, Court Craft, Forensic, Soft Skills Medicine etc. Practical exercises training as Unarmed Combat, Physical Fitness, Drill, Firearms etc to the Cadets.
